Today’s audience is accepting cinema
Mumbai, (IANS)| Actor Ali Fazal feels that stories of flawed people have grabbed headlines today and are being thoroughly enjoyed by this generation of audience. He says the current generation resonates with films that portray real, flawed, vulnerable people on screen because it creates a human connection. Ali said this is a good time to produce art as there is no fine line between different genres and today’s audience is accepting cinema which reflects the harsh realities of the contemporary world.
For an actor, it is important to be a part of cinema that speaks to its audience and is not black or white at all. His latest, ‘Forget Me Not’, one of four stories in the anthology ‘Ray’, captures this sentiment.
He said that the present generation has inherited the qualities of empathy and adaptability from their predecessors and at the same time they are generous, most diverse and connected. They resonate with films that portray real, flawed, vulnerable people on screen because it creates a human connection. Ali further added that cinema has become an indelible part of the collective consciousness of the present generation and stories, when presented with justice, create engaging content on screen.
