The second part of Voot’s web series Apharan is ready for release. Actor Arunoday Singh will once again be seen in the lead role of Rudra Pratap Srivastava in Apharan 2. In the first part of the series, he won everyone’s heart with his explosive dialogues and something similar is being seen in the trailer of the second part as well. Before the release of Abduction 2, Arunoday Singh had a special conversation with Avinash Pal in Hindustan and gave answers to many questions.
Is there anything new coming in ‘Apharan 2’?
A lot is going to be different, but I can’t say much. Otherwise, the entire surprise of the audience will be gone. But I can say one thing for sure that the story is bang on.
How was your reaction when Kidnapping 1 was offered?
I immediately said yes as soon as I heard the story. I knew that I should do it, although it was not expected that the audience would like it so much. We all just worked honestly.
How hard did it take to get into the character of ‘Apharan’, Rudra?
Tried a lot to understand that character. This character is also a human being and his attitude should not be heroic. He’s engaged, and how he tries to control everything. I knew it would be fun to do this character and did it.
Which is your favorite dialogue from ‘Apharan 2’?
We went to kill walnuts with gram in the stomach… (laughs)
What is something in common between the character ‘Rudra’ and Arunoday in Abduction 2?
There is a lot in common internally, but the Surface that is there is different. Where I am from, where Rudra is, the upbringing of both is different. I was able to catch the emotion of the character, everything else had to work hard. Enjoyed all those things.
Your father has been a veteran politician, so how did the story of your cinematic innings begin?
Politics was not for me. Of course it was in our family but I never got interested in it. I always wanted to become an actor. I knew I wanted to act. My focus has always been the same. My father is also very cool, he always said to be a good person and always be happy whatever you are doing. There was never any pressure from the family side.
You are one of those few celebs who come into the limelight only during work and then away from limelight…any special reason?
I am silent because maybe people don’t want to know about me apart from projects. I find this celebrity culture very strange after a while. I am an artist and am very private. I am not a circus clown who always dances in front of people. I convey my love to people through work.
You also write, any intention to implement professionally?
I want, I aspire, but I am still learning. It’s not just a hobby, I don’t try but I keep writing. I like it.
The cinematic journey started with ‘Sikandar’ in 2009, has come till 2022. How do you see your journey, do you ever feel that it should have been done or not?
I never think like that.. Nothing ever happens accidentally. I have this wisdom. Some say I am MBA, some say I am LLB, but me and my maternal uncle have a code… We say we are LLMKP, which means- Across the field of hanging. So is my career.
What are the upcoming projects?
Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen 2 and other projects are there but I can’t declare about them. Only producers can do that.
Any character in your mind that you want to play?
First Batman and second Indiana Jones.
