It is not a matter of real history. Real history was not even in ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ or in the recent hugely successful Telugu-Hindi film ‘RRR’. Most of the viewers are unaware of the real history. It is a matter of whether the film succeeds in creating the magic that is seen on the screen. This is where ‘Emperor Prithviraj’ fails. Akshay Kumar does not look like a king in most places, he looks like a player.
The second important thing is that if someone is to be shown heroic on the screen, then it is necessary that the villain in front should also be shown strong. But in the role of Muhammad Ghori, Manav Vij seems somewhat stoic. So this film Prithviraj has to put a lot of effort to prove his bravery.
In the beginning of the film, Prithviraj is shown fighting with a lion. This type of recipe to show someone that they were audacious since childhood, is too old. It would have been better if director Dwivedi thought of some other new way. This story has been going on for centuries that Bharat, the son of Dushyant and Shakuntala, used to count the teeth of a lion in his childhood. A story has also been spread that the shooting of the lion fighting scene in the film was done with lions from Africa to give a realistic impression.
Well, apart from the bravery aspect, Prithviraj and Sanyogita’s love affair is a bit impressive and the battle scenes are also made impressive with the help of graphics. All this can be called a positive aspect of the film. Sanjay Dutt has been used to find another strong shoulder to run the film. Who is in the role of Kaka Kanha.
Although his role is small, so that shoulder has also not been effective. Ashutosh Rana had to be weak in the role of Jaichand. Manushi Chhillar is fine as Sanyogita. The songs of the film are not going to stick on the lips. Yes, Sonu Sood is in the role of Chandbardai.
