Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been in the news since its release. The story of Kashmir Pandits shown in this film remains a matter of debate at this time. Some people believe that the truth of the year 1990 has been shown in this film, while many people are saying that this is just propaganda.
Something similar was also seen in Arnab Goswami’s debate on Republic TV. When the actors and filmmakers came as panelists, they clashed. Its video has been shared by Republic TV on its Twitter handle. In which it can be seen that Ashok Pandit and Shehzad Khan are seen arguing about the story of the film Kashmir Files.
Actor Shahzad Khan said that earlier also films have been made on Kashmir issues. The film should be seen like a film. But after this film, I am seeing that people are saying good and bad to Muslim on WhatsApp or through video. He said that when all this was happening in Kashmir, the BJP had fully supported the government of that time.
In response to this, Ashok Pandit said that Shahzad sir, you are my friend, but you have come up with a lot of information by doing Google. I’ll tell you the truth. I have gone through this whole phase being a Kashmiri Pandit and a filmmaker. To say so is a sign of lies and cowardice. You are sprinkling salt on my wound, you have no idea. I have seen with my own eyes the time when there was exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
People are giving their reactions on this video. A user named Neha Kaul wrote, “I am a Kashmiri Pandit, who migrated from the valley in February 1990 (7th exodus). I am married into a Kashmiri Pandit family who migrated in the 18th century. Each of us is a #KashmirFiles, a collective memory of what happened in the last 700 years. Thank you Vivek Agnihotri.”
Manak Gupta wrote, “Have heard that after The Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri will now make a film on the partition of 1947 and the Emergency of 1975. Will also make a web series on TKF. Is it true? ,
