New Delhi, Veteran cinematographer-filmmaker Gangu Ramsay died on Sunday at the age of 83. Gangu Ramsay, who was ill for the last one month, was undergoing treatment at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Gangu Ramsay, who was a part of Ramsay Brothers, has worked for many horror films.
On Sunday, his family officially confirmed his death. Gangu Ramsay’s career spanned decades, he worked in more than 50 iconic films under the banner of Ramsay Brothers, including ‘Veerana’, ‘Purana Mandir’ and ‘Band Darwaza’, ‘Do Gaj Zameen Ke Neeche’, ‘Samaritan Rishi’ Classic films with Kapoor include ‘Tahkhana’, ‘Puraani Haveli’ and ‘Khoj’.
She worked with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in her first film ‘Aashiq Awara’. He also worked with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for films like ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’. He also worked on television in ‘Horror Show’, ‘Nagin’ and ‘Jimbo’. He has also worked with famous actors like Vishnu Vardhan in the South film business.
A few years ago, Kumar Ramsay of Ramsay Brothers died of a heart attack at the age of 85. He wrote scripts for several films, including ‘Purana Mandir’, Shatrughan Sinha starrer ‘Saaya’ and ‘Khoj’.
