Los Angeles, Sep 4 (IANS)| The late actor Chadwick Boseman was remembered at Howard University a year after his untimely death and served as the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts unveiled.
As reported by etOnline, the university shared the news on its Instagram on Friday. “The Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts installation is now officially the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts,” Howard University wrote alongside a video of the building. The caption further read, “An icon in itself who has left an incomparable legacy for the next generation. Thank you Boseman.”
Boseman attended college at Howard University and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing. When news of the name change was announced in May, Boseman’s wife Simone Ledward said in a statement at the time, “I am extremely pleased that Howard University has chosen to honor my husband in this way and am delighted that Rashad has accepted the role as the dean.”
“Chad was a very proud bison, with Howard and Rashad both playing integral roles in his journey as a performer.” “The re-establishment of the College of Fine Arts brings this part of his story full-circle and ensures that his legacy will continue to inspire young storytellers for years to come.” Boseman died in August last year at the age of 43 after fighting colon cancer for four years.
