The shooting of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer action film ‘Vikram Vedha’ has been wrapped up. The filmmakers gave this information on Friday. Said to be a thrilling action crime thriller, the film is based on the famous Indian folk tale ‘Vikram Aur Betal’. It is the story of a tough police officer (Khan) who sets out on a hunt for a dangerous gangster (Roshan).
The Hindi film is a remake of the 2017 Tamil blockbuster film of the same name, starring R Madhavan as a policeman and Vijay Sethupathi as a gangster. Filmmakers Pushkar and Gayatri have also directed the Hindi remake. Roshan, 48, said that playing the role of Vedha had to break the hero’s groove and try something new. The actor said, “Playing the character of Vedha is something I have never done before. I had to break the stereotype of being a ‘hero’ and try my hand at a field that I have never done as an actor. My directors – Pushkar and Gayatri quietly inspired me to set new boundaries.
Roshan credits his performance to co-star Khan and Yogita Bihani. Khan said working under the direction of Pushkar and Gayatri has been a rewarding experience. The 51-year-old actor said, “Both Pushkar and Gayatri have a lot of creative energy and working with them was very rewarding. Working with Hrithik and filming some great action sequences has been a wonderful experience for me. The shooting of ‘Vikram Vedha’ started in October 2021. The shooting of the film took place in several locations like Abu Dhabi, Lucknow and Mumbai. The film is to be released worldwide on 30 September.
