There is continuous controversy over Annu Kapoor starrer Hamare Barah.
Annu Kapoor starrer film ‘Humare Barah’ is constantly surrounded by controversies. There has been a ruckus about this film ever since the teaser of the film was released. There is a demand to stop the release of the film. At the same time, the trailer of Hamare Barah has also been removed from social media platforms. The film is being accused of spreading hatred against a particular religion and there is a demand to stop its release. Meanwhile, Annu Kapoor’s film ‘Humare Barah’ has not got relief from the bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath. This film was to be released yesterday.
Release stayed until case is resolved
The Supreme Court has stayed the release of the film till the Bombay High Court resolves the matter. It has also requested the High Court to dispose of the petition quickly. The petitioner said that CBFC itself is a party to the petition filed in the Bombay High Court and how can its own committee screen the film? The petitioner said that CBFC had formed a committee for the screening of this film. After the screening, the CBFC committee had suggested removing the teaser and some parts of the film. Which were removed and after that the High Court allowed the release of this film.
Bombay High Court order challenged
The petitioner filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging this order of the Bombay High Court stating that this film is against the Islamic faith and insults married Muslim women in India. Objections have also been raised to some dialogues of the film.
Annu Kapoor released the video
After the release of the teaser of the film, Annu Kapoor shared a video in which he reacted to the controversy surrounding the film. Annu Kapoor claimed in his video that the film is based on a social issue. In the video, the actor said- ‘This film only advocates women empowerment and women’s rights. All of you should first watch the film and only then form an opinion or give your decision. Everyone has the freedom to say their opinion, but no one should be abused like this. Do not abuse or threaten to kill. We are not going to be afraid of these things.’
