The 22nd International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony has been postponed. This decision has been taken after the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event was scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi. Condolences have been expressed on the passing away of the President of the UAE from the official social media page of IIFA. Earlier, the IIFA Award ceremony was to be held in March, but the dates were pushed forward taking precaution regarding Corona.

The awards ceremony was to be held on May 20 and 21. Now this event will take place in Abu Dhabi on 14, 15 and 16 July. IIFA tweeted on the death of the President that ‘Sad on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
