Apart from this, for quick action, the Government of India issued an advisory to major social media platforms saying that strict action will be taken against sites spreading misinformation or serving obscene material. The government issued an ultimatum of 36 hours.
Government needs to change the laws
It is noteworthy that the faces of Deepika and Alia Bhatt were used on the porn website. Many such sides have been seen where the faces of actresses are being used in a wrong way. Jiten Jain, director of cyber security firm Voyager Infosec, while speaking to Business Today, suggested several changes to deal with deepfakes. He said that the existing IPC and IT rules are not enough to deal with deepfakes, many changes are needed considering the current situation.
