Speaking at an event, Pankaj said that Panchayat elections are a great example of basic democracy and everyone should vote in the upcoming elections for their own betterment.
The actor is the son of a farmer, and hails from Belsand, a village in Gopalganj district of Bihar. Pankaj has closely observed rural life and problems. He believes that the problems on the ground can be solved only through the democratic process of elections.So, when officials of the State Election Commission, Bihar contacted Pankaj, he immediately agreed to spread the message about the importance of Panchayat elections in the life of a villager. He understands that for the progress of the country, every level of governance needs to be strengthened from the roots.
Pankaj further added that the beauty of Panchayat elections lies in the fact that the contestants are from the village itself, hence it becomes easier for the villagers to know their candidates very well. The Election Commission has also introduced modern technologies like biometrics.The officials are confident that Pankaj’s popularity will be greatly benefited in the elections.
