Full Interview:
Q: How was your experience of swapping roles with Zakir?
Answer: The experience was very funny, Zakir is me. I am a huge fan of Zakir and he is really hilarious. I think this kind of switch was great fun, it was a nice surprise and I enjoyed it.
Q: Is there any special feature in Zakir that you found interesting and that is why you decided to swap with yourself?
Answer: Zakir’s comic timing is very simple, I like that he is not dramatic in his comic timing. I think she is quite clear, clean but in a very strong way. He connects with the audience because of his straight face. I saw a lot of his content, especially before shooting for the commercial and I was thrilled with his comic timing.
Q: The idea of swapping personalities to bring out a surprise sounds interesting. How will this be executed by both of you? Did you have to study each other’s personalities for this activity?
Answer: Well, I did a fair amount of research as I could. I watched many of his videos. It is an interesting concept and we hope the way it unfolds is really thrilling and entertaining the audience. So, I had watched a lot of Zakir’s videos before anyway, but just before the filming of the ad, I watched a lot of them and tried to study their modus operandi, basically because I wasn’t copying. I tried to capture the details.
Q: What’s next in the pipeline for you?
Answer: There is a lot in Dharma. I hope everything is fine soon and things go back to normal. There is a lot of content waiting for Dharma for both the films and digital space and we are very excited to tell new, unusual and unconventional stories.
