New Delhi: The mall was being constructed by Prakash Jha in Jamshedpur. In order to purchase 10 thousand square feet space, Classic Multiplex Pvt. Ltd. CMD Pawan Kumar Singh had made an agreement with Prakash Jha. For this he was given a bank draft of Rs 20 lakh. Complainant Pawan Kumar Singh alleges that even after the agreement, he was not given space in the mall. Regarding this, he had filed a complaint in the Civil Court of Ranchi alleging fraud, on the basis of which an FIR was registered against Prakash Jha in the Kotwali police station of Ranchi.
In January 2018, the court had taken cognizance against Prakash Jha. Prakash Jha had taken refuge in the High Court against this. According to the IANS report, the police investigated the matter and submitted the final report to the lower court and said that this matter does not constitute a criminal case as it is related to a civil dispute. The criminal quashing petition filed by Prakash Jha in the Jharkhand High Court against the cognizance of the civil court was heard in the court of Justice SK Dwivedi.
Court ordered to cancel FIR
Appearing on behalf of Prakash Jha, his advocate Umesh Prasad Singh said that the three drafts worth Rs 20 lakh given to Prakash Jha have not been encashed. Police investigation has revealed that this is a dispute of civil nature. After hearing both the sides, the court ordered the quashing of the FIR.
