New Delhi. Famous filmmaker, poet and writer Pritish Nandy has passed away at the age of 73. The information about his demise was shared by actor Anupam Kher on social media. He paid tribute to his dear friend by writing an emotional post on Instagram. Anupam Kher wrote, “Deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends, Pritish Nandy. He was a wonderful poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor and journalist. In my early days in Mumbai, he was my support system and a great source of strength. We shared a lot of things.”

Kher further wrote, “Pritish Nandy was one of the most fearless people I have met. Always larger than life. I learned a lot from him. Although our meetings had become less frequent of late, there was a time when we were inseparable. I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of Filmfare and more importantly ‘The Illustrated Weekly’. He was the true definition of ‘yaaron ka yaar’. I will miss him and the moments spent with him. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Pritish Nandy created his own identity in the fields of journalism, literature and film production. His contribution will always be remembered. There is a wave of mourning in the literature and art world due to his demise.
