Mumbai, October 11 (IANS) | Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned 79 on Monday and shared a stunning picture of himself on social media on the occasion of his birthday. However, daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s comment on her photo caught the attention of many. Amitabh took to Instagram and shared a collage of himself dressed in gray joggers, sling bag and neon green shoes and jacket.
He captioned the photo, “Turning towards the 80th year.” On which Shweta wrote 79th, correcting her age in the comment section. The actor’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda shared a clapping emoji. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh called the cine icon a ‘gangster’ in the comments section.

Prabhas, who will be seen alongside Big B in the upcoming Nag Ashwin starrer ‘Project K’, took to Instagram to wish him a happy birthday. Sharing a picture of himself and Big B, Prabhas wrote, “Happy birthday to the legend of all time Amitabh sir!” ‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi, who shared the screen with Big B in ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, said, “Wishing my dear elder brother, my guru Amit ji a very happy birthday.” Referring to Big B’s famous dialogue from ‘Kalia’, actor Suniel Shetty wrote, “All lines begin where you Mr Bachchan stand and you will always find me in that line.”
Since Monday morning, wishes have been pouring in for Amitabh on social media. Ajay Devgn, who will be seen sharing screen space with Big B in the upcoming film ‘Mayday’, tweeted, “Sir, seeing you through a different lens has taught me what a true artiste is. Happy birthday dear Mr. Amit.” Southern superstar Mammootty simply wrote, “Happy birthday Amitabh sir.”Actress Bhumi Pednekar congratulated the star and wrote, “Swag, happy birthday sir.” The cine icon made his acting debut in 1969 with ‘Saath Hindustani’. He was later seen in blockbuster films like ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Namak Haram’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Don’, ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Coolie’. On the work front, Big B has a busy schedule, he will be seen in ‘Jhund’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Mayday’, ‘Good Bye’, ‘Uchhai’ and Nag Ashwin’s untitled film.
