‘The Kashmir Files’ is one of the popular films of this year. There was a lot of politics regarding the film and still this process has not stopped. On the one hand, the film made new records of earnings, while many called it a propaganda film. Film director Vivek Agnihotri and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor clashed on Twitter over ‘The Kashmir Files’. The whole controversy started when it came to know that ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been banned in Singapore. The reason for this was given that ‘one-sided’ things have been shown in it. On this Shashi Tharoor tweeted, to which Vivek Agnihotri replied. The reaction of ‘The Kashmir Files’ actor Anupam Kher also came in this whole matter.
where did the controversy begin
Shashi Tharoor, while sharing the article of Singapore’s Channel News Asia, wrote, ‘The Kashmir Files was promoted by the ruling party in India while it has been banned in Singapore’. To this Vivek Agnihotri replied that there is a regressive censor in Singapore and many films have been banned there in the past as well. He further wrote that please do not make fun of Kashmiri Hindu genocide.

In another of his tweets, Vivek Agnihotri, sharing a screenshot of Shashi Tharoor’s late wife Sunanda Pushkar’s tweet, wrote that Sunanda was a Kashmiri Hindu? If so, he (Tharoor) should delete his tweet in honor of the deceased. Tharoor’s tweet
Anupam Kher also replied
Responding to Shashi Tharoor’s tweet, Anupam Kher also shared a screenshot of Sunanda Pushkar’s tweet. He further said that sensitivity should be shown towards Kashmiri Pandits only for the sake of Sunanda. Anupam Kher writes, ‘Dear Shashi Tharoor, your harshness towards the massacre of Kashmiri Hindus is extremely sad. At least for Sunanda who was a Kashmiri herself, you should show some sensitivity towards Kashmiri Pandits and not feel victorious about the country bringing a ban on The Kashmir Files.
Anger erupted on Agnihotri and Kher
After all this, Shashi Tharoor issued a statement which he has shared on Twitter. Tharoor wrote, ‘1. I tweeted a factual news this morning. I did not comment on the content of The Kashmir Files, which I have not seen.
2. I have never made fun of the plight of Kashmiri Pandits whose condition I am aware of and I have tried to draw attention to it over the years.
3. It was disgusting and wrong to drag my late wife Sunanda into this matter. No one knows his thoughts as much as I know. I went to his destroyed ancestral home in Bomoi near Sopore where I spoke to his Kashmiri neighbors and friends, including Muslims and Hindus. One thing I know, today she is not there to present her case in front of those who try to exploit her, she believes in solving the matter, not in hatred.’
