Singapore, (IANS)| Singaporean rapper Yung Raja released his new single ‘Spice Boy’ as a gift to superstar Rajinikanth. The 26-year-old bilingual rapper said, “He’s a legend around the world who has been my role model as I grew up.”
Rapper Yung King said, “I wanted to give him a tweet of sorts in my music video and celebrate his supremacy. I’ll show the moments he gives me as inspiration, mainly his style. It’s unique, I belong to a generation of fans whose swagger is permanently etched in our minds.”The three-minute cinematic video is tied together by crazy action, curly wigs, inflated sumo costumes and disorienting close-ups.
The comical antics are set in terrifying places that look straight out of Christopher Nolan’s films.Yung started his career in 2018 with his single ‘Full Gang’ and became an emerging hip-hop artist from Southeast Asia with ‘Mustafa’, ‘Mad Blessings’, ‘The Dance Song’.His most recent track ‘Mami’ recently appeared on the American late night talk show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’.His latest single ‘Spice Boy’ tries to break free from the homogeneous expectations of popular culture.
Continuing his crusade to make room for a multi-faceted cultural identity, Yung King said, “When I was a child, I have always been proud of my culture, my roots, my mother tongue, everything that makes me ‘I’.
