A big consortium of Zee Studios, ZEE5, and #IAmBuddha deserves all the credit for organizing such a worthy event, which in a way immersed the evening in the stories of ‘The Kashmir Files’. Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri along with Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar made their presence felt at the event. Such a concert provided a heart-warming experience for the first time for the audience and the students who were exposed to the stories of struggle and pain of the residents of Kashmir at that time.
Vivek Agnihotri told the film the mission
Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Agnihotri shared, “We performed the voice of The Kashmir Files and we narrated two stories of victims by Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi with the Vishal Symphonic Orchestra. There was not even an eye in that packed theatre, which was not flowing with tears. Even the auditorium staff standing nearby, as I waited behind the stage, I noticed that they were crying just hearing it, but not watching. This shows that everyone is connecting with the pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters. The Kashmir Files was not just a film for us, it is our mission to bring the stories of Kashmir genocide to the people in all art forms. We have used this kind of musical theater as an experiment for the first time in India and we are going to take it further with many other variations but we will not sit till we tell the full story of Kashmir.”
the letter touched the hearts of the audience
The best glimpse of ZEE5’s event, “Sounds of the Kashmir Files” which grabbed attention were the letters from Kashmiri Pandit read by Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi, who took center stage with Symphony Orchestra along with Rohit Sharma . Artists from the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) took to the stage in a semi-circle pattern that gave a perfect background score to heartwarming words written in letters. The kind of outrage that was visible all around the event was magical, which had never been seen before in any event.
