Film’s director Vivek Agnihotri talks about The Kashmir Files during a press conference in Delhi. Vivek told that 5000 hours of research was done to make the film and about 15,000 pages of documents were collected. Vivek also showed a 20-minute video in the press conference, in which there were interviews of Kashmiri Pandits who were in Kashmir at that time.

Vivek told that he traveled with wife Pallavi Joshi to many parts of the country and abroad and interacted with Kashmiri Pandits. About 700 Kashmiri Pandits were interviewed for the film. Vivek and Pallavi Joshi were seen wiping their tears after listening to the painful tales of Kashmiri Pandits in the 20-minute video.
Kashmiri Pandits expelled from home
Vivek told that the Kashmiri Pandits were in pain as they were thrown out of their house. His grief was greater because of the political system of that time. Most of the people do not know what happened to Kashmiri Pandits because the government tried very hard to hide it. Vivek also told that Kashmiri Pandits requested many directors to make a film about him, but every time only got disappointment.

Vivek told that when this idea came to him in 2018, it took him about one-and-a-half months to convince himself. Vivek said, ‘This decision was not easy to take, as there were many dangers in it. Terrorist attacks can happen on you too, and when this happens no police or army comes to save you. In such a situation, my wife Pallavi Joshi encouraged me and then we decided to make this film.
60.20 crore collection
Let us inform that the collection of the film, which was released on March 11, is slowly increasing. The film had collected Rs 8.50 crore on the first day. After this the film collected more than 15- 15 crores for the next two days. On Tuesday, the film earned 18 crores. In such a situation, the total collection of the film has gone up to 60.20 crores. It is expected that the film will earn even more in the coming days.
