Several people are reported to have been injured in violence during a procession taken out on the occasion of Ram Navami in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Many houses were burnt in the arson, even someone shot in the leg of the SP. As soon as the situation became normal after this incident, the bulldozer of the Madhya Pradesh government reached towards the house of the accused and the shops were demolished. There has been a debate about this on social media.
Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani wrote on Twitter that ‘Under which law are the houses of Muslims being demolished in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh? Which court has authorized this? Are courts still functioning in India?’ Many people have given their answer to this tweet of Arfa Khan Sherwani, filmmaker Ashok Pandit too!
Ashok Pandit responded by writing that ‘the same law under which they are allowed to throw stones, soda bottles, grenades etc. Did you see that footage?’ A user named Rishi Bagri wrote that ‘action was taken under Newton’s third law.’ Ajit Dutta wrote that under which law stone pelting was done? Which court authorized this? Are the courts still functioning in India?’
A user named Pramod Dixit, replying to journalist Arfa, wrote that ‘under the same law that allowed weapon filled and aggressive slogan marches by Muslims in 2018. Why do you look with the same lens, if you talk about justice, then look at both the sides. A user named Ashish Kaul wrote that “under the same law under which Kashmiri Hindu genocide was carried out by Kashmiri Muslims and terrorists” and the police and courts were watching for 32 years. It hasn’t even been here for 24 hours, understand the pain of 32 years.
A user named LN Narayan wrote that ‘Which courts are you talking about? What was the Karnataka High Court’s decision regarding Hijab? Is everyone following? Do you all really follow the Indian Constitution.’ A user named Randhir Karan wrote that from where did such a huge amount of stone suddenly come in all the houses? Meaning if preparations were already in place, then such criminals should have been confronted. Be thankful to the government that only arrests have been made and the house itself has been demolished.
A user named Hussain Hydari wrote that ‘Does the act of demolishing houses come under the principles of natural justice? This attitude should stay with everyone in the country even though at present it is being used only to destroy Muslim houses with communal intent.’ A user named Ramakant wrote that ‘Arfa ma’am is demanding Uniform Civil Code, support her in implementing UCC at the earliest. There will be one law, everyone will have to follow the same.
