PVR and INOX lead with 8800 and 6100 tickets sold, while Cinepolis has sold 3500 tickets. This is a very good jump in the gap of 6 hours as the film sold around 7800 tickets at 12 noon on Sunday. Some celebrities are also booking it in bulk but it is not yet clear whether it is a result of celebrity buying/Hanuman seat or organic booking from audience. As far as the first week is concerned, Adipurush has sold a good amount of tickets in all three series.
gotta beat these movies
These are big numbers for the film in the days to come and if the numbers remain the same, it could end up being the longest running English feature film in the world post the pandemic. Currently, ‘Pathan’ is at the top of the post-Corona list, followed by ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Brahmastra’. Ahead of the release, one of the biggest goals for ‘Adipurush’ is ‘RRR’, but with this kind of response on Sunday, the expectation from the film has gone up.
‘Adipurush’ to be a blockbuster?
It might also be a matter of the theme of the film i.e. Ramayan being associated with an actor like Prabhas, who is a big name in the English belt. It’s early days and we will get an over picture by Thursday but we cannot deny that it is off to a great start at the ticket counters. Nothing much can be said about the booking of this film, but still there are full chances of ‘Adipurush’ being a blockbuster.
