Hyderabad, October 23 (IANS) | Telugu actor Prabhas, who became a household name with ‘Baahubali’, turned 42 on Saturday. He is the only South Indian actor who has successfully ventured into Bollywood and is still holding his place. So far, very few male (male) film stars from the four South Indian film industries have ventured into Bollywood and those who have, have returned after a film or two.
After Baahubali, Prabhas managed to bag some big-ticket Hindi movies in Bollywood. Although her first Hindi film ‘Saaho’ did not do anything special at the box office, she has retained her magic.All eyes are now on ‘Radhe Shyam’, the teaser of which was shared on the occasion of Prabhas’s birthday on Saturday.Though he is enjoying the limelight now, it has not been completely comfortable for the stylish star of Telugu film industry. Since its launch in 2002, it has been a tumultuous journey of success at the box office.
His uncle, Krishnam Raju is a renowned senior Telugu star and also a former Union Minister.Despite coming from a powerful film family Uppalapati Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju had to go through the trials and tribulations of making a career in the film industry.His debut film ‘Eshwar’ directed by Jayant Paranji could not do wonders at the box office. Even his second film ‘Raghavendra’ was a flop. But her stylish outfits kept her popular among the youth.While most others would have left the industry in despair, Prabhas firmly garnered cult status with his third film ‘Varsham’.Subsequently, blockbuster films like ‘Chhatrapati’, ‘Mirchi’ ‘Billa’ cemented his image as a dependable star at the box office.
When Baahubali released in 2015, it was time for him to make a comeback. But he still had to wait for the release of the sequel in 2017. With an overall collection of over Rs 2,600 crore, the film created history in terms of box office collections.Though the Covid pandemic has put brakes on film production for the past two years, Prabhas is busy producing a few films.Prabhas is a foodie and loves to play volleyball.
