Amitabh Bachchan once spoke in detail about this anecdote during his much-loved TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh Bachchan had told that, ‘When we were shooting on the sets of Sholay, Dharam ji was standing at the bottom of a hill and I was on the top of the hill. During this Dharmendra was looking at the gun by lifting it.
During this, Amitabh Bachchan teased him on something. Dharmendra got angry and fired the original cartridge at Dharmendra. However, fake cartridges were to be used for shooting.
Amitabh told that he had no idea that there were real bullets in the gun. When the bullet passed through Amitabh’s ear, he was stunned to hear his voice. However, Amitabh did not get hurt due to this.
The film Sholay, which was released on the occasion of 15th August in the year 1976, did a tremendous performance. Although initially this film did not get that much crowd of the audience. But as people heard the tales after seeing the film, then the film became a milestone for Hindi cinema.
