This is the second time in three years that this Famous Actor award has been given by the prestigious publication. Time acknowledged Khurrana’s contribution to the world of cinema, saying, “Ayushmann Khurrana is a Bollywood star like no other.
At the Global Time 100 Impact Awards ceremony held on Sunday night, Ayushmann delivered a speech that drew from the Hindu philosophy scripture Bhagavad Gita. Emphasizing the essence of selfless action, he said, “karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana, ma karma phal hetur bhurmate sangostva akarmani”. This verse urges one to focus on the process rather than the results, fostering a mindset detached from the fruits of labor.
Proudly representing India on the global stage, Ayushmann addressed the importance of being recognized by the prestigious Time magazine as an artist. He said, “To be acknowledged as an artist by Time Magazine is a humbling moment for me! I am here to represent the current moments of India, and I am very proud of the fact that Indian cinema is becoming the focal point of progressive storytelling.”
Ayushmann used his platform to shed light on India’s vibrant street theater culture, and how it shaped him as an artist. He shared, “I was highly active as a street theater actor.
