If you have recently had type 2 diabetes and you ignore it, it will not have much effect. But over time high glucose levels can damage your nervous system, blood vessels, eyes, heart and kidneys. Make distance from sugar: If you do not have low blood sugar, then you should stay away from things with a lot of sugar and carbohydrates. Soda and fruit juices contain high amounts of sugar. In such a situation, it is better not to consume them.
Eat low GI foods: Keep food with low GI ie glycemic index in your diet. For example, fruits include apples, oranges, lemons, berries, etc. Similarly, eat broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, quinoa and oats, etc.
Keep distance from refined foods: Refined and ready-to-eat foods should not be consumed. These days packaged food is easily available in the market. It doesn’t take any time to make them. This food saves time but it increases the risk of other diseases related to the body.
Keep checking sugar level: You should keep checking your blood sugar level regularly. From this we keep knowing from time to time whether our blood sugar is high or low or under control.
Exercise regularly: Exercise should be made a part of your lifestyle. The American Diabetes Association recommends that you do 30 minutes of aerobic or cardio throughout the day. Due to which your heart and lungs remain healthy. You can walk to keep yourself healthy, dance and swimming are also good cardio.
