New Delhi. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Air Force showed its strength through the flyast amidst the ongoing tension from Pakistan. The Air Force is practicing ‘Land and Go’ on a 3.5 km long portion on the Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Mirag, Hercules, Jaguar, MiG and Rafale aircraft performed tricks together during this period. The Air Force is doing take-offs and landing exercises here. This exercise is being conducted to assess the capacity of the expressway as an alternative runway during war or national emergency. It is an important milestone in the country’s defense preparations.

The special thing is that there will be a night landing show in the evening. It will start from 7 pm and run till 10 pm. This will be the first night military air show of its kind in the country to be done on an expressway. Tomorrow i.e. Saturday, fighter plane will do air shows during the day. In view of security, CCTV cameras have been installed around 250 on both sides of the express airstrip. A large number of people, school children are present on the expressway to see the landing and takeoff of the Air Force fighter aircraft. The echo of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai’s slogans is heard everywhere.

Shahjahanpur DM Dharmendra Pratap Singh said, “For the first time in the country, there will be a night landing show on the airstrip. In any emergency, this strip of expressway can be used as a runway. Please tell that the total length of Ganga Expressway is 594 kilometers. It is being built from Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh to Prayagraj in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Ganga Expressway is being constructed at a cost of 36 thousand 230 crores. Earlier, the Air Force has also landed and taken off at the Agra-Delhi Yamuna Expressway. Airstrip has also been built on Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway.
