Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House on Friday. During this important meeting, the Chief Minister discussed the major issues related to the overall development of Chhattisgarh and the strategies to deal with the Maoist challenge. Chief Minister Sai made the Home Minister aware of the achievements and further path of anti -Maoist campaigns and further. He said that more than 100 people have been detained so far under the anti -Maoist operations in the state.
Chief Minister Sai apprised the Home Minister of the achievements of anti -Maoist campaigns and further outline. He said that in the last one and a half years, the state has achieved remarkable success in its anti -Naxal operations. Since December 2023, a total of 445 Maoists, including top leaders, have been killed in 33 big encounters. Additionally, 1,554 Maoists have been arrested and 1,588 surrendered.
He further stated that the state is working under a comprehensive “integrated development and security” policy aimed at completely eliminating the Maoist influence. This includes road infrastructure, education and expansion of health services in affected areas. These initiatives have not only reduced the Maoist influence, but have also increased public confidence in administration.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to the Union Home Minister for continuous cooperation and guidance in ensuring security and development in Bastar and other affected areas. The Union Minister appreciated the initiative of the Chhattisgarh government and described it as historic in the fight against Maoism. He assured full cooperation on behalf of the central government in this campaign. Both leaders also discussed the preparations for the Amrit Rajat Festival 2025 being organized to mark the completion of 25 years of the formation of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said that special efforts are being made to make this ceremony grand and memorable. The event will present the cultural heritage, social unity and economic achievements of the state to the national and international audiences.
