CPI leader Survaram Sudhakar Reddy dies; Congress, BRS expressed grief

Survaram Sudhakar Reddy, a two -time MP and former general secretary of the Communist Party of India, died on Friday at the age of 83. Congress MP Chamla Kiran Kumar Reddy went to Hyderabad’s Care Hospital and paid tribute to the senior CPI leader. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to his family.

A statement issued by the Telangana Congress said, “Former Telangana MP and senior CPI leader Survaram Sudhakar Reddy has passed away due to illness. Congress MP Chamla Kiran Kumar Reddy paid tribute to the late leader at Care Hospital and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family.”

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described Survaram Reddy as a prominent “communist warrior” and expressed condolences on his death. He wrote on ‘X’, “Prominent Communist Warrior … former CPI general secretary. Executive Chairman K.T. Rama Rao also remembered the former CPI leader as a staunch supporter of the “lifetime” fighting for the poor and a staunch supporter of the Telangana state movement.

KTR wrote on ‘X’, “We have lost a loud voice of the public and the leftist movement with the demise of former CPI general secretary and former Nalgonda MP Comrade Survaram Sudhakar Reddy Garu.

Kavita wrote on ‘X’, “The death of senior CPI leader and former National Secretary Survaram Sudhakar Reddy is an irreparable loss for the whole country. His commitment and work as a dedicated communist leader, till his last breath, is a source of inspiration for the coming generations. I pray for their soul peace … I express my deep competence towards his soul.” ,
