Dream 11 another blow! BCCI ends agreement

Fantasy sports company Dream 11 has suffered another setback. The BCCI has ended its agreement with Dream 11. That is, Dream 11 will not sponsor Team India’s jersey. This step has been taken after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 passed. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the Cricket Board will not further partner with any such institution.

Devjit Saikia said, “BCCI and Dream 11 are ending their cooperation after the promotion and regulation of online gaming bill 2025. There will be no partnership with any such institution.”

According to news agency PTI, Dream 11 and My Circle 11 are Indian cricket team and IPL sponsors. This causes about one thousand crore rupees to the BCCI treasury. There was an agreement between Dream 11 and BCCI about 360 crores to sponsor the Indian cricket team’s jersey by 2023-2026.

The new bill provides that no person or institution will promote such betting apps. After this provision of the bill, the revenue source of fantasy apps like Dream 11 suffered a major setback. Dream 11 has been closed since this order. However, the company has launched a new product called Dream Money. Through this, individuals can invest in the stock market.
