Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of Rs 2,548 crore in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat on 25 and 26 August, stated in a press release.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of urban development projects worth Rs 2,267 crore in Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is rehabilitating 1,449 slums in Sector-3 of Ramapir Tekra at a cost of more than Rs 133 crore under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Component of the Municipal Corporation, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The project, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, includes facilities such as a common plot, Anganwadi, health center, solar rooftop system and PNG gas connection.
Under the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority, clean drinking water is being provided through the Water Life Mission. The Prime Minister will inaugurate a clean water pump with a capacity of 1.5 million liters in Daskari taluka and will also inaugurate a water pumping station constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore as well as 23 km long main pipeline. The press release said that clean drinking water will be available to 10 villages in Auda region from this project.
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of several works in Ahmedabad. Among them, the construction of rainfall drainage system for Shela, Manipur, Godvi, Sanathal and Talav for five years and its operation and maintenance; Development of Law Garden and Mithakali campus including street furniture under Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation; New water distribution centers in Taletej and Narnapura wards of western region and Chandkheda in western region; And the reconstruction of the four -lane Asarwa railway over bridge between Sabarmati and Ahmedabad stations is included.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of a mini sports complex in Sarkhej ward of southwest region. The project to be built at a cost of about Rs 56.52 crore on a municipal plot in South Bhopal will play an important role in shaping Ahmedabad as a sports hub. In addition, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the project to convert 24 meters and 30 meters long roads into four lanes at a cost of Rs 38.25 crore in TP scheme number 139/C, 141 and 144 under Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority.
According to the release, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) will upgrade the four -lane main road to a six -lane road in two phases under the Hybrid Annuiti mode, which will have controlled access to the expressway standards to ensure speed and safety.
Along with the six-lane main road, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of 32 km long four-lane service road and 30 km long service road. A total cost of Rs 1,624 crore will be modernized traffic capacity and infrastructure around Ahmedabad city.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various urban development projects worth Rs 281 crore in Gandhinagar, including Rs 243 crore by Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) and Rs 38 crore by Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA). These projects launched at a cost of Rs 243 crore under GMC will provide modern and well -organized road facilities, improve hygiene and health standards, solve floods and waterlogging problems and ensure uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water for citizens.
Of these, the Prime Minister, developed at a cost of Rs 44 crore, will inaugurate the newly constructed pipeline system from Charedi Headworks to four elevated storage tanks (ESR) in Pethapur and Rakija. This system will supply clean Narmada water to about 55,000 citizens, which will improve health, hygiene and overall standard of living. Under Guda, two sewage treatment plants of 1.0 MLD capacity, a sewage treatment plant of 2.5 MLD capacity, four sewage pumping stations and one gram-level drainage network have been constructed in Dabhoda at a cost of Rs 38.14 crore.
