New Delhi. The Congress government of Himachal Pradesh, which is facing financial crisis, has sought money from the temples of the state for government schemes. For this, a letter has been written by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to all the temples under the state government. According to the news of TV 9, the temple administration has been requested by the Himachal government that the money received as offerings in the temple for ‘Chief Minister Sukh Shiksha Yojana’ and ‘Sukhashray Yojana’ should be given to the government. On the other hand, the government can catch a hurry to ask for money from temples.
The Himachal government has been in serious economic crisis for a long time. The government treasury has been empty, due to which the Chief Minister sometimes imposes toilet tax and sometimes wants to recover from the public through any other tax. The condition is that some time ago the salary of government employees and the pension of former employees were hanging. When the Himachal government was surrounded by the matter, after waiting for a long time, they had their salary in the accounts of the employees. Significantly, the Himachal Pradesh government is in heavy debt. In 2018, the financial burden on the government was Rs 47,906 crore, which increased to Rs 76,651 crore in 2023.
At the same time, in 2024 last year, this figure was Rs 86,589 crore. In the 2022 assembly elections, the Congress had announced to distribute many free revisions. After the formation of the government, several schemes were guaranteed for women, including Rs 1500 every month, free electricity up to 300 units every month and restoration of old pension scheme. Not only this, the Congress had also promised 5 lakh jobs in 5 years, but none of these promises has fully fulfilled.
