Over 100 flights delayed at Delhi airport due to bad weather

Over 100 flights were delayed at Delhi airport on Friday morning due to bad weather. Dense fog blanketed the national capital, reducing visibility.

An official said more than 100 flights have been delayed, but no flight has been diverted yet.

“Despite landings and takeoffs continuing at Delhi Airport, flights which are not CAT III compliant may impact passengers,” Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a post at 6.35am ET. They are requested to contact the concerned airline for updated flight information. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused.”

The CAT III feature allows aircraft to fly even in low visibility conditions. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), operated by DIAL, handles around 1,300 flights daily.
