MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Pakistan’s first demand for the Nobel Peace Prize for US President Donald Trump after US aerial attacks on Iran’s major nuclear facilities.
The Lok Sabha MP questioned whether Pakistan had supported Trump only so that it dropped a sovereign nation. Othasi said in Hyderabad, “We should ask Pakistanis whether they want Trump to get the Nobel Peace Prize …” He mentioned the attacks made by the United States at Iran’s nuclear sites in Natanj, Isfahan and Fordo.
The AIMIM leader made fun of the military leadership of Pakistan, saying, “Did Pakistan’s General (Army Chief Asim Munir) have lunch with the US President for this? Today all of them have been exposed.”
He said that this region is important for India’s economy. He said, “Indian companies have invested in all these Arab countries or Gulf countries, and a large part of foreign investment comes from this region.”
Describing the nuclear threat from Iran as “boogie”, Owaisi said, “And finally, this boogie is built about Iran having nuclear weapons, or it and that, the same thing was used in Iraq, weapons of mass destruction.
The AIMIM chief’s remarks came a few hours after the US and Israel’s attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, including Fordo. Fordo is the main site of Iran’s uranium enhancement, where up to 60 percent of uranium is produced.
The Government of Pakistan said in a statement on the social media platform X on Friday that it would nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, as many media outlets in the US including The Hill.
American publication reported that after the announcement of enrollment by Pakistan, Trump shared a serious attitude on his possibilities of getting recognition with an international award for conflict intervention a few hours after making a treaty between Rwanda and Congo.“No, I will not get the Nobel Peace Prize, no matter what I do, which includes Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Iran, whatever results, but people know, and that is what matters to me!”
