Paramilitary forces stationed for the first time on Chardham Yatra route, monitoring after Pahalgam attack

Chardham Yatra begins from 30 April

Uttarakhand: Vigilance has been increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Chardham Yatra starts on Wednesday. In such a situation, paramilitary forces have been deployed for the first time in Chardham Yatra. For this, the police headquarters demanded that 10 companies of paramilitary forces were provided to the central government.

6000 policemen deployed

Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth reached Rishikesh on Tuesday and inspected the journey routes. He said that in view of the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, very strict security arrangements have been made this time. He said that we will not compromise on the safety of pilgrims. He informed that 6000 policemen, 17 PAC companies and 10 paramilitary force companies sent by the central government have been deployed on the travel routes.

The entire region was divided into 15 super zones

For the first time this year in Chardham Yatra, security arrangements are being strengthened by distributing the entire region super zone, zone, sector wise. The entire area is divided into 15 super zones, 41 zones and 137 sectors. Instructions have been given to keep policemen for 24 hours in every sector. Duty of more than 6,000 police, SDRF and PRD personnel has been imposed in all these places.

Registration over 22 lakhs

There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees towards the Chardham Yatra. So far, more than 22 lakh devotees from the country and abroad have registered for travel online and offline mediums.

Officials informed on Tuesday that while Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will open to devotees on Wednesday, the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened on May 2 and Badrinath Dham. (input language)
