Political stir in Lucknow before Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary, heavy security deployment due to denial of permission to pay tribute to Akhilesh Yadav

New Delhi. Before the birth anniversary of socialist leader Jaiprakash Narayan, the political atmosphere in the capital Lucknow has become heated. Political tension has increased after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was not allowed to pay homage at the Jai Prakash Narayan International Convention Center (JPNIC). In view of the situation, the administration has deployed heavy security forces and route diversion has also been done at 1090 intersection. Tight security arrangements have also been made outside Akhilesh Yadav’s residence, due to which it seems that preparations are being made to put him under house arrest. Akhilesh Yadav has announced to reach JPNIC at 10:30 am on Friday, although the administration has not given him permission to do so.

Akhilesh Yadav angry over installation of tin sheet

Late Thursday evening, Akhilesh Yadav suddenly reached JPNIC, where he found the building covered with tin sheets. Seeing this he got angry and said that the government is trying to hide something. While talking to the media, he said, “The government must be trying to hide something by putting up tin sheets. After all, why has the tin sheet been installed? Why is no great man being allowed to be honored, that too on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan ji?” Along with this, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also said that this is not happening for the first time. Every year socialist people gather here on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan, garland him and express their views. He also emphasized that Jayaprakash Narayan had brought a big change in the country by giving the slogan of Total Revolution and he should be respected.

Security arrangements increased outside Akhilesh Yadav’s house also

Samajwadi Party had written a letter to the police on October 8, seeking permission to lay wreaths and pay tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan at JPNIC on the occasion of his birth anniversary. But the police did not give permission citing security reasons. However, there is a possibility that Akhilesh Yadav may reach JPNIC once again on Friday. Keeping this in mind, heavy police force has been deployed outside his residence.

No wreaths allowed due to security reasons

Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has issued a letter in this matter, stating that JPNIC is currently a construction site, where construction material is spread and there is a possibility of insects due to rain. The letter also said that Akhilesh Yadav enjoys Z+ category security and due to security reasons it is not appropriate to garland him at JPNIC.

There was an uproar last year also

This is not the first time that there has been controversy regarding JPNIC. Last year too, a similar high voltage drama was seen on the occasion of Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary, when Akhilesh Yadav climbed an 8 feet high wall and reached JPNIC to lay a wreath. This time the police administration is already alert and ready to deal with any untoward situation.
