The Election Commission of India (ECI) said that 94.68 percent of the voters in Bihar have been covered under the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in the state.
The Election Commission said in a statement that out of 78,969,844 voters, 90.12 percent forms have been received from voters; 4.67 percent are not found at their address; 1.61 percent has probably died; The name of 0.75 percent is recorded in more than one place; 2.3 percent is probably permanently moved; And 0.01 percent is not being detected.
The election body also said that the ERO will publish the draft voter list on August 1, 2025 and invite suggestions and inputs to correct any entry in the voter list draft.
The release said, “According to SIR’s order of June 24, 2025 (page 2, para 7), political parties and the public will be given a full month’s time to show any improvement or to include the missing names. For this, the recognized political parties will be provided with the printed and digital copies of voter list, and the public will be provided with the public website for the public website and the public will be provided with the public’s access. It may be confident that no eligible voter will miss. “
The statement further stated that the list of such voters, who have been dead, have been permanently transferred, registered in more than one place or who have not returned the EF even after several tours of BLO, now the district presidents of political parties/1.5 lakh booth level agents (BLA) appointed by them are being shared with the real state of such voters so that the real state of such voter can be detected before 25 July.
According to SIR’s order, each of more than 1.5 lakh BLA can, after being certified, can submit up to 50 forms per day. This step is in accordance with the commitment of the Election Commission that no eligible voter is missed.
The final voter list will be published on September 30, 2025. Printed and digital copies of the final voter list will be given free to all recognized political parties and will be published on the Election Commission website.
