A public interest litigation was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the stampede at Mahakumbh.
The Supreme Court described the stampede at Prayagraj Mahakumbh as an “unfortunate incident” and refused to hear the PIL seeking to implement security measures and guidelines for pilgrims coming from all over the country. The Supreme Court asked the lawyer who filed a PIL to go to Allahabad High Court with his petition.
Demand for action against those responsible in the petition
This PIL has been filed on behalf of Supreme Court lawyer Vishal Tiwari regarding Mahakumbh stampede. The petition has demanded a status report on the stampede on the day of Mauni Amavasya and action against the responsible officials. Not only this, it has also been asked to open a facility center in the fair on behalf of all the states, so that non -Hindi speaking citizens do not have any kind of inconvenience.
30 killed in stampede, 60 people injured
Please tell that 30 people were killed and 60 people were injured in the incident of Mauni Amavasya in Mahakumbh in the early hours of January 29. However, a large number of devotees continue to come to the fair area and the incident of stampede is not visible on the devotees coming here. After this, the government has adopted 5 major measures for crowd management in the fair area, including the cancellation of VVIP passes from ban on entry of external vehicles.
