Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy recently questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi how many Rafale fighters were demolished by Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor’. Addressing the ‘Jai Hind’ rally in Hyderabad, Reddy raised this question and said that the Prime Minister should answer 140 crore Indians.
Reddy also alleged that the Modi government did not call a meeting of all parties before ending the struggle with Pakistan, while such a meeting was held before the start of the war. He said that the Modi government had promised to separate Balochistan from Pakistan and include Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in India, but did not fulfill it.
The BJP strongly criticized Revanth Reddy’s statements and advised her to be limited to ‘Miss World Photoshoot’. The BJP said that this attitude of Congress leaders is going to drop the morale of the Indian Army and politics should not be done on national security issues.
Reddy also alleged that the Modi government gave thousands of crores of contracts to people who bought Rafale aircraft. He said that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi defeated China in 1967 and built Bangladesh in 1971 by fighting against Pakistan, while the Modi government could not give any concrete reply despite China capturing 4000 sq km Indian territory.
This rhetoric has led to a new debate on the issues of defense and national security in the country’s politics.
