Japanese two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced that it has sold 10 million Honda Shine motorcycles in India. According to the announcement made by the company, since the launch of the motorcycle in the year 2006, Honda has so far managed to sell 10 million Shine motorcycles in the country. The company claims that, the Shine two-wheeler by Honda has reached No. 1 in the list of best selling bikes in the country with more than 50% market share.
Strong year-on-year growth
On the other hand, according to SIAM, Shine has emerged as the most preferred bike of choice in the 125 cc segment with a strong 29% year-on-year growth. That is, Shine has also become the first 125cc motorcycle brand to achieve the milestone of 10 million customers. As an engine, a 125 cc engine has been given in Honda Shine, which generates maximum power of 72 bhp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 10.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Price and variant information
Honda Shine is a commuter bike, whose starting price in India starts at Rs 87,126, while the price of its top variant has been fixed at Rs 92,015 thousand. This bike is available in 2 variants and 4 colours. Equipped with Combined Braking System on both the wheels, the Honda Shine weighs 115 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 10.5 liters.
