Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Deputy Director General (Operations) Gyaneshwar Singh said in a statement that the labs were detected after nearly three months of intensive technical and ground surveillance by both the agencies to identify the people involved in these illegal drug manufacturing units. was detected.
A total of 149 kg of ‘Mephedrone’ or ‘Meow Meow’ (in both powder and liquid form) and 50 kg of ‘Ephedrine’ were seized from three units located at Bhinmal in Rajasthan’s Jalore district and Osian in Jodhpur district and Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat, the official said. And 200 liters of ‘acetone’ was recovered.
He said that seven people have been arrested so far. Teams of both the agencies are also raiding similar units in Amreli district of Gujarat. He said that the leader of these illegal drug manufacturing units has been identified and will be arrested soon.
At the same time, since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in Rajasthan, illicit liquor, cash and other materials worth more than Rs 834 crore have been seized. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that in view of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, different agencies have seized drugs, liquor, precious metals, freebies and illegal cash worth a total of Rs 932.41 crore since the beginning of March. Has been confiscated.
He said that after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the value of the items seized by the agencies since March 16 on the instructions of the Election Department is more than Rs 834 crore. Gupta said that different agencies are keeping a strict vigil on the illegal use of suspicious items and money for the purpose of influencing the elections in the state and in this sequence, continuous seizure actions are being taken across the state.
According to him, since March 1 till now, suspicious items and cash worth more than Rs 40-40 crore have been seized in four districts of Rajasthan, Rs 30-30 crore in nine districts and more than Rs 20-20 crore in 13 districts. . During this period, maximum seizure of Rs 47.03 crore was made in Jodhpur district. After that, Rs 43.08 crore was seized in Churu district and Rs 41.92 crore in Ganganagar.
