The issue of paper leak will be raised in Parliament today
At the same time, let us tell you that the thanks motion will be the focus of the discussion but the opposition will raise its voice demanding a discussion on the NEET paper leak. The government has already sensed the opposition’s intentions, so Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made preparations to respond to any discussion on the NEET paper leak. In the first session of Parliament, the government does not want to show itself on the back foot in any way, so with the start of the session, the Modi government is playing on the front foot on the NEET paper leak. The President himself has taken the lead by mentioning strict action against the paper leak in his address.
Action in NEET paper leak…Government on front foot
On June 4, when the country was busy with the results of the Lok Sabha elections, NTA surprised everyone by releasing the NEET results and when the matter of rigging came to light, the opposition got an issue in its hands. But after taking oath for the third time, the Modi government came into action regarding this. The government-
- NTA DG Subodh Kumar Singh was removed and Pradeep Singh Kharola was made the new DG.
- The investigation of all cases related to paper leak across the country was handed over to CBI.
- UGC-NET exam was cancelled.
- NEET-PG exam has been postponed.
Dharmendra Pradhan implemented anti-paper leak law as soon as he took oath
The government also took several major decisions at the policy level immediately. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan implemented the anti-paper leak law as soon as he took oath. This law was passed in February this year itself.
According to the Public Examination Act-2024-
- Those guilty of paper leak can be punished with up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore.
- Cheating can result in a punishment of up to 3 years and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.
- If the educational/coaching institute is found guilty, then its manager/teacher can be jailed for 5 to 10 years.
As soon as the evidence of NEET paper leak came out, the opposition became aggressive. The government started taking action twice as fast. The way hooting took place while the education minister was taking oath in the parliament, it became clear that the opposition was going to surround the government, so the government made full preparations.
