Washington: Narendra Modi has created history by leading the BJP and NDA to victory for the third time in a row under his leadership. He is going to take oath as the Prime Minister for the record third time on 9 June. After the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962, PM Modi will be the second Prime Minister who is going to hold this post again after completing his two terms for the third time in a row. Therefore Extensive preparations have been made to celebrate this landslide victory of PM Modi in America.
Narendra Modi’s supporters will celebrate his third swearing-in ceremony, a senior leader of the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP-USA) said. He said Modi’s third swearing-in ceremony would be celebrated in cities like New York, Jersey City, Washington, Boston, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. OFBJP-USA president Adapa Prasad told PTI, “His victory will be celebrated in 22 cities of America from this Friday to next Sunday.” Members of OFBJP-USA took out car rallies in many cities of America to create awareness among people during the election campaign.
PM Modi repeated the record of 1962
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the single largest party in the Lok Sabha and this is the first time since 1962 that a prime minister has come to power for a third consecutive term. Modi will take oath as prime minister for the third consecutive time, which will be the first time in 60 years. Prasad said that after the formation of a new government in India, OFBJP-USA will work towards further strengthening India-US relations. He said, “We will unite the diaspora to strengthen India-US relations.” He said that he will also request the Prime Minister to set up a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Commission for all issues related to the diaspora.
Prasad said a large number of Indians living abroad face problems related to property and even minor issues like matching of bank signatures. “We are demanding the establishment of an NRI commission which will help resolve these issues,” he said. (PTI)
