Not only this, 40 thousand women have become financially prosperous by joining the company. At the same time, a target has been set to add 12,000 women in the year 2022-23. One lakh eight thousand liters of milk is being collected daily in Bundelkhand by self-help groups, which is an example in itself.
40 thousand women have joined the company so far
Bhanu Chandra Goswami, MD, Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, said that eight women who are on the board of directors of the company have contributed significantly in its operation, which are an example of women power. Company CEO Dr. Om Prakash Singh said that under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), till now a total of 40 thousand women including women belonging to 950 self-help groups of 839 villages have become members in the company.
More than 36 thousand women milk producer members share holders
At the same time, milk is being collected from 839 villages through 675 centers while work is being done to set up milk collection centers in additional 250 villages. With this, about 1.08 lakh liters of milk is being collected daily, while the scheme is being operated in Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Jalaun and Lalitpur in Bundelkhand. Expanding it in the coming days, preparations are being made to connect Mahoba with this scheme so that Bundelkhand emerges in front of the state in terms of milk production. Dr. OP Singh informed that at present there are 36158 female milk producers member share holders from 700 villages in the company.
Five districts including Ballia, Mirzapur flagged off the Milk Value Chain Project
According to the Rural Development Department, through Kashi Milk Producer Company, the milk value chain project in Ballia, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Ghazipur and Chandauli of Purvanchal has been given green signal. Under this, the milk will be collected and processed and sold. A target has been set to add 35,000 milk producers in 3 years under the scheme. A budget provision of 42.23 crore has been made for this.
