In the Silver Jubilee event of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), PM Narendra Modi made some big announcements. PM Modi also informed about the launch timeline of the next generation 6G of the telecom network in India. Along with this, PM Modi also made it clear that 5G connectivity will start in the country in the coming few months.
Let us tell you that at present, telecom companies in the country are offering 3G and 4G networks to their customers. However, Jio and Airtel have been trialling 5G networks for quite some time now. PM Modi said at the event that it is estimated that due to the 5G network rollout, the Indian economy will increase by 450 billion (about Rs 3,492 crore). He said that 5G will not only increase internet speed but will also boost growth and jobs.
PM Modi said that 5G technology will bring a positive change in government work and it will also be easier to do business. He says that 5G technology will accelerate growth in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure and logistics. Apart from this, a task force has been appointed to roll out 6G network in the country by the end of this century.
PM Modi said that the number of mobile manufacturing units in the country has increased from 2 to 200 and now the country has become the world’s largest mobile manufacturing hub. PM Modi informed at the event that his government emphasized on healthy competition and due to this, India has become the country to provide telecom data at the lowest price in the world.
PM launched the country’s first 5G testbud at the event, which will help startups and industry players to test and validate their products in the country. About 220 crores have been spent to make these testbeds. This will reduce India’s dependence on foreign, because till now startups and other companies had no option but to go abroad to test and validate their products in 5G network.
