Dehradun. The budget of Rs 67 crore 22 lakh 62 thousand 137 for the financial year 2022-23 of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee was passed on Tuesday. In this, emphasis was laid on improving the preparations for Badrinath and Kedarnath Yatra, providing more facilities to the pilgrims, sending advance teams to Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham in early April before the opening of the doors. The meeting was held in the office auditorium located on Canal Road under the chairmanship of committee chairman Ajendra Ajeya. During this, a budget of Rs 67 crore 22 lakh 62 thousand 137 for the financial year 2022-23 was passed. 34 crore 44 lakh one thousand, 323 for Badrinath establishment while 32 crore 78 lakh 60 thousand 814 income has been proposed for Kedarnath Pratishthan.
Temple committee president Ajendra Ajeya said that after two years, the number of pilgrims in Chardham Yatra is expected to increase due to the slowdown in the rate of corona infection.
He said that apart from Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham, provision has been made for travel facilities along with arrangement of subordinate temples, Vidyapeeth, pharmacy, drinking water, accommodation facility, maintenance of rest houses, worship arrangements etc. Temple committee vice-chairman Kishore Panwar told that this year the doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on May 6, while the doors of Badrinath Dham will open on May 8.
In the budget passed by the committee, emphasis was laid on giving more facilities to the pilgrims. In the meeting, preparations for the Badrinath-Kedarnath yatra, darshan of the dhams for the pilgrims, installation of faith boards on the yatra route, updating the website of the temple committee, determining the logo of the temple committee, construction of staff accommodation in Kedarnath Dham, first aid facility, Sanskrit The strong condition of the colleges, health of the employees, getting insurance, performing Yagya at Makkumath, the winter seat of Tungnath, besides promotion of employees, permanentization of temporary employees were also discussed.
In view of the shortage of cardiologists during the Chardham Yatra, training will also be given to the physicians related to the treatment of heart diseases. The purpose is that the physician can give first aid to a devotee in need during the journey. Along with this, new parking lots will also be developed this time on the Chardham Yatra route.
Chardham Yatra is going to start in the state from May 3. Due to the restrictions implemented for the prevention of corona infection in the year 2020 and 2021, a very limited number of devotees came for the Chardham Yatra. This year the government has lifted all restrictions. In such a situation, a large number of devotees are expected to come this time. The preparations for this are also in full swing.
Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu held a meeting regarding the preparations for Chardham Yatra. He said that all necessary steps should be taken to make the journey smooth and safe. Health services should be strengthened on the Chardham Yatra route. Deployment of specialist doctors should be ensured everywhere. Crash barriers and signage should be provided to prevent accidents on the roads. Special attention should be given to traffic management and parking on mountain roads and new parking places should be developed.
He also directed to increase the registration counter for Chardham Yatra. He said that website and mobile app should also be developed so that registration of passengers does not take much time.
He directed to repair the damaged hand pump due to road widening and make it usable. He said that weather information should also be given along with travel on Chardham Yatra mobile app and proper publicity should be given to it.
