Islamabad. At least seven Pakistani workers were killed in a tragic mine accident in Oman’s Ibri city.
The Express Tribune reported in its report that four other employees were missing.
The accident reportedly happened after the rock hit a marble mine, killing seven miners and possibly leaving the missing people to the ground.
Another Pakistani was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment.
The Pakistani embassy in Muscat said they were coordinating closely with the Omani authorities for the search and rescue operation for the missing miners.
The authorities have deployed heavy machinery, state-of-the-art cameras and sniffer dogs for the search and rescue operation.
Two embassy officials visited Ibri and met the affected families and workers. The embassy offered full support and ensured that the bodies would be sent back to Pakistan at the earliest after completing the relevant formalities.
