The man who worked in the field had alleged that the banana tree in his owner’s field fell on his head. Due to this he was injured and for this he should get 5 million dollars in damages.
According to the news of the news website ‘News.com’, this man named Longbottom used to work on a farm near Cooktown, Queensland. While he was working, about 70 kg of bananas fell on his head. The incident happened during the harvesting of bananas at L&R Collins’ farm in June 2016. Due to this, he filed a case against his owner in the court.
The worker said that his company was very careless, they had not trained him well. The company had not even taught him how to collect bananas from the big trees. As a result, he had an accident. During the hearing of the case, Justice Katherine Holmes said that bananas had fallen on her from a great height. The tree was very tall and the bananas were also very tall. In such a situation, suddenly the bananas fell on his head, due to which Longbottom fell on the ground and he also suffered a lot. He also had to be admitted to the hospital due to the accident. He could not even go to work as he was in the hospital. As a result, they could not even be compensated.
It was told in the report that the weight of the bananas that fell on the longbottom was about 70 kg. The longbottom had not been able to function since the accident. Because he was very injured. And that’s why he asked for this fine. The court, in its decision, found all these arguments of Longbottom to be correct and due to this he ordered the company to pay a fine of $ 502740 i.e. Rs 3,77,15,630.
