India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra for setting up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility through the Industries, Energy and Labor Department.
The scrappage center will have a recycling capacity of 35,000 passenger and commercial vehicles. Tata Motors will set up a scrapping center with a partner. It is worth noting here, that Tata Motors had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Ahmedabad, and other companies to support the Company Vehicle Scrappage Policy. First Scraping Center Cero Recycling
At the same time, the central government will scrap all vehicles older than 15 years from 2022. Recently on 23rd November, Maruti Suzuki and Toyotsu started vehicle scrappage and recycling operations in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Benefits of Registered Vehicle Scraping Facilities
According to the report, around 50-70 Registered Vehicle Scraping Facilities (RVSFs) will be set up across the country in the next five years to scrape such vehicles in a safe manner. which is not suitable for walking on the roads.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla said, “Auto scrappage is of great importance in our economy. Let us tell you, the Vehicle Scrappage Policy was started on 13th August 2021, while the new scrappage policy of the government aims to eliminate the cars that do not meet the pollution standards.
