Ramesh Gupta says that if you have bought dry fruits like cashews, almonds, walnut kernels from the open market and kept them in the kitchen, then be sure that they will start spoiling within a month. Insect gets infected..
Cashew nuts are especially infested by insects. Its husk starts flying away. At the same time, the taste of almonds also starts changing or its skin starts coming off. The color of raisins, raisins etc. starts changing. Sometimes the viscosity also increases.
Dry fruits have to be deep refrigerated
Gupta says that 90 percent of the people who buy dry nuts and keep them in boxes in the kitchen and keep eating them for many months are eating spoiled cashew nuts and almonds. In fact, whenever you buy dry fruits, keep them deep refrigerated. Just take it out whenever you want to use it. By doing this there is no problem in dry fruits for 3-4 months.
The peel does not spoil quickly.
The right way to store dry fruits is to store them cold. They remain in cold storage at minus 3-4 degree temperature for one-and-a-half years. However, it is worth noting that in cold storage these are kept on the shelf i.e. in thick peel. Like almond is with peel and remains intact. Dry fruits with peel have longer shelf life. Therefore, if you are buying peeled dry fruits then they can last for a few more days.
Whenever you buy, keep these 3 things in mind
