New Delhi. The last match of the Super 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. In this match, Afghanistan registered a spectacular victory and made it to the semi-finals. In this match played in St. Vincent, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Afghanistan batsmen could not take advantage of the good start and could score only 115 runs for 5 wickets. Due to rain, 1 over was reduced and Bangladesh team was given a revised target of 114 runs. Which they could not chase and were all out for 105.

But they failed to give a great start. Gurbaz scored 43 runs in 55 balls. Whereas, Zadran was out after scoring 18 runs. Azmatullah Zazai, who came at number three, scored 10 runs. Apart from this, Rashid Khan played an innings of 19 runs in 10 balls in the end. Rishad Hussain bowled brilliantly for Bangladesh and took a total of 3 wickets.

Now it was Bangladesh’s turn to chase. Bangladesh lost their early wickets very quickly. Tanzin Hasan, who came to open, got out on 0 in 3 balls. Captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan also flopped. Shanto got out after scoring 5 runs in 5 balls, while Shakib lost his wicket on the very first ball. For a while, good batting was seen from Liton Das. He kept the front and stayed till the end. But could not bring victory.
With this win, the Afghanistan team qualified for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. With this win of Afghanistan, the Australian team was eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024. The Afghanistan team will now face South Africa in the semi-final match. This match will be played on June 27. The match will start at 6 am as per Indian time.
